You have spent a lifetime being "fine." It is time to be yourself.
Therapy for Women Who Are Finally Seen
Serving adult women in person in Olathe, Kansas and via telehealth across Kansas and Missouri.
You Have Been Carrying This Long Enough
The Reality of the Mask
Maybe you have spent years wondering why everything feels harder for you than it seems to for everyone else. Why you burn out faster, feel things more intensely, and can never quite seem to quiet your mind. You are high achieving, deeply empathetic, and incredibly self-aware. And yet inside, you are navigating a quiet exhaustion that most people around you cannot see.
Maybe you recently received a late ADHD or autism diagnosis and are still trying to make sense of what that means for your life, your relationships, and your sense of self. Maybe you are untangling the long roots of religious trauma, the invisible wounds of having emotionally immature parents, or grief that has never had a proper place to land. You have likely tried traditional talk therapy before and made some gains, but it felt like you were just reporting your life rather than actually healing it.
If your body is holding tension that words cannot reach, you are NOT broken. You are simply carrying too much, and you have been doing it alone for far too long.
Therapy with me is not about fixing you. It is about finally having a space where your whole story is welcome, including the complicated, messy, hard to explain parts. Where we can untangle what has been keeping you stuck, reconnect you with your body and your authentic self, and build a path forward that actually fits who you are.
I work with adult women in Olathe, Kansas and across Kansas and Missouri via telehealth. My specialties include late diagnosed ADHD and autism (AuDHD), complex trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, religious trauma, burnout, and the lasting effects of emotionally immature parenting. Using a blend of ACT, DBT, sandtray, yoga informed care, and mindfulness, we will do real meaningful work here. And yes, humor and the occasional well placed F-bomb are absolutely welcome.
How we work together
There is no one size fits all approach to healing. That is why I draw from a range of evidence based and holistic modalities, tailoring every session to what your nervous system actually needs that day. What makes therapy at Lotus Life different is that when we incorporate tools like breathwork, movement, or sound, it is always grounded in a clear clinical intention and therapeutic framework. These are not add ons. They are purposeful tools woven into our work together based on what will best support your healing at any given moment. My approach blends ACT, DBT, sandtray therapy, yoga informed care, and mindfulness because real healing happens not just in the mind but in the body too.

ACT helps you stop fighting your own mind and start building a life that actually feels meaningful. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts and feelings, we work on changing your relationship with them. We create space for you to move toward what matters most even when things feel hard. If you are a woman struggling with anxiety, burnout, or the emotional exhaustion of late diagnosed ADHD or autism, ACT offers practical tools to build psychological flexibility and resilience.
-
DBT is especially helpful for women who feel emotions intensely, struggle with relationships, or find themselves swinging between extremes. It builds skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. While I do not offer a full DBT program, I weave DBT skills into our work together in a way that is practical, accessible, and genuinely useful for daily life.

Using miniature figures and symbols in sand, you create a visual representation of your inner world. This allows unconscious thoughts and feelings to surface safely and without the pressure of having to articulate everything verbally. There is something quietly powerful about giving yourself permission to play again, to arrange, to create, and to express what has lived wordlessly inside you for years.
Sandtray is especially powerful for processing trauma and grief. It is a vital tool for neurodivergent women who think visually or spatially, or who have always struggled to fully express their inner experience in words. It is also a gentle and moving way to reconnect with the parts of yourself that got lost somewhere along the way.

As a 500 hour registered yoga teacher and student of Yoga Therapy, I am able to thoughtfully incorporate elements of breathwork, therapeutic movement, and sound into the therapy space when clinically appropriate.
Something as simple as an intentional breath, like the kind that comes naturally when you are blowing bubbles on a summer afternoon, can shift your entire nervous system and create space for deeper work. These modalities are always integrated into the broader framework of your treatment. The goal is to help your mind and body work together in the healing process, bringing a little more lightness and breath into the serious work of healing.
A Space Designed for Your Nervous System
The Sensory Waiting Nook
Your healing begins the moment you step inside the Lotus Life Suite. Feel free to hang your jacket and settle into a pink velvet rocker, a purple settee, or a gold meditation chair. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee complete with a variety of syrups and "punny" mugs. Whether you need to hydrate with cold water or pass the time with coloring books, crosswords, or stickers, this low-light space with a soft sound machine is here to help you decompress before our session starts.
For a gentle transition. The Talky Talk Room
This is a low-light sanctuary featuring a velvet couch and soft blankets. There are no overhead lights here, just a warm glow. It is a quiet, home-like space designed for days when you need a soft place to land and talk through your experiences using sand-weight fidgets for grounding. On cold days you can enjoy the electric fire place’s warmth and ambience.
For grounded connection. For visual processing. The Sandtray Room
If you find it difficult to put your experiences into words, this room is for you. Here, you can utilize a vast collection of miniatures to "show" what you are feeling in the sand. This space allows your story to take shape visually, reducing the pressure of direct eye contact.
For somatic grounding.The Sanctuary
Draped in colorful fabric and lit by floating iridescent candles, this room is a dedicated space for movement and sound. Whether you prefer the floor with mats and bolsters or the comfort of a zero-gravity chair, we use this room to help your body process stress. It is a peaceful retreat where the light shifts gently through a single floor-to-ceiling window.
Beyond the Therapy Hour
Healing does not only happen in an hour. For many of the women I work with, the most profound shifts happen in the spaces between, when the nervous system finally gets permission to rest, the body releases what words could not reach, and something quiet and true begins to emerge.
That is why I take a whole person approach to therapy, one that honors the connection between mind, body, and spirit rather than treating them as separate. Whether we are working through trauma using body informed techniques, exploring your inner world through sandtray, or integrating breathwork and gentle movement into our sessions, the goal is always the same. To help you come home to yourself.
Therapy here is not just about managing symptoms. It is about building a life that feels authentic, embodied, and genuinely yours.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes, and it is one of my deepest areas of focus, both professionally and personally. Many of the women I work with received their ADHD or autism diagnosis as adults, often after decades of wondering why everything felt so much harder than it seemed to for everyone else. I understand that experience from the inside out. Therapy here is not about having all the answers. It is about having a space where your neurodivergent experience is genuinely understood, where the exhaustion of a lifetime of masking is validated, and where we figure things out together at a pace that actually works for your nervous system.

AuDHD refers to the experience of having both autism and ADHD, which frequently co-occur and can create a uniquely complex experience of the world. Yes, I work with AuDHD adults specifically and understand the particular ways this combination shows up in daily life, relationships, work, emotional regulation, and the bone deep exhaustion of navigating a world that was not designed for your brain.
Please note that I am a licensed clinical social worker and therapist, not a psychiatrist or neuropsychologist. I do not provide diagnostic testing for ADHD or autism, nor do I prescribe or manage medications. If you are seeking a formal diagnosis or medication support I am happy to help connect you with the right resources in the Kansas City area.

Yes. Many of my clients carry deep wounds from growing up with parents who were emotionally unavailable, unpredictable, or unable to meet their emotional needs. This often shows up as difficulty trusting yourself, struggles with boundaries, persistent self-doubt, and a deep longing to finally feel like enough. This work is close to my heart and something I approach with great care and compassion.
-
Yes. Religious trauma and faith transitions are something I work with regularly. Whether you are grieving a belief system you grew up in, processing harm that happened within a religious community, or navigating the complex identity questions that come with leaving a faith, this is a safe and non-judgmental space to explore all of it.

Honestly, sometimes therapy here looks a lot like traditional talk therapy, and that is perfectly okay. If you come in and need to talk, we talk. There is always a soft place to land and a listening ear in this space.
What is different is that if talking alone is not getting you all the way there, we have other options. Many of my clients have found that blending evidence based methods like ACT and DBT with expressive and body informed tools like sandtray therapy and breathwork helps them access and process things that words alone could not reach. But none of that is ever pushed on you. Everything we do together is collaborative, consensual, and driven by what feels right for you on any given day.
The physical space at Lotus Life is also intentionally designed to support your nervous system from the moment you walk in the door, whether we end up in the sandtray room or just sitting together on the velvet couch.
-
Yes. Grief is one of the most undertreated experiences in therapy because it does not fit neatly into a timeline or a tidy set of symptoms. I work with women navigating the loss of loved ones, the end of relationships, the grief of a diagnosis, the loss of a faith, and the quiet grief of a childhood that did not give them what they needed. All of it is welcome here.

Yes. I offer both in person therapy at my office in Olathe, Kansas and telehealth sessions for clients located anywhere in Kansas or Missouri. I know that many of the clients I work with are also navigating chronic illness and/or demanding work schedules. Telehealth gives flexibility to do therapy over a lunch break when it is the only window you have or to be flexible with your physical health. Therapy can still happen. You do not have to choose between taking care of yourself and everything else on your plate.
