"Healers empower others by helping them realize they already hold the power to heal within themselves."

A Winding Path to This Work
I have been drawn to service for a long time. In undergrad I participated in a service learning program and went on mission trips to Mexico. I volunteered at the Lawrence Community Shelter regularly and learned so much from those experiences and the people I met along the way.
After college I joined AmeriCorps and spent time in New Orleans two years after Hurricane Katrina, sitting across from homeowners still rebuilding their lives long after the cameras and many volunteers had gone. It was there I realized I wanted to help in deeper ways that I did not yet have the tools for.
I went on to serve in the Peace Corps as a health volunteer in Malawi, and when I returned I applied to the Masters in Social Work program at the University of Kansas. That was over a decade ago. Since then I have worked across outpatient therapy, partial hospitalization, psychiatric residential treatment facilities, and private practice, and I have been consistently humbled by the courage it takes to ask for help.
But the path that brought me here was not just professional. Some of what shapes how I show up for my clients is deeply personal.
What I Believe About Healing
Healing is not linear. It is not about arriving at a fixed destination or checking off a list of symptoms. It is about coming home to yourself, one honest, imperfect, sometimes messy session at a time. I believe every person who walks through my door already holds within them what they need to heal. My job is to help create the conditions for that to happen, with skill, care, humility, and the occasional well placed F-bomb.
How I Practice
Everything I offer is grounded in the same core values: formal training, supervised practice, ethical boundaries, and a genuine commitment to your safety and wellbeing.
As a licensed clinical social worker I am bound by a professional code of ethics that guides every decision I make, including keeping my therapy and wellness services intentionally separate to honor the integrity of both and protect the people I serve.
That same standard of care extends to my wellness work. I completed 50 hours of practice prior to my Reiki Master training. My sound healing and biofield balancing certification includes a 100 hour program and a mentored practicum. My yoga training spans 500 hours of teacher training, ongoing yoga therapy training, and supervised practicums. I am also a trained labyrinth facilitator.
I do not pick up a tool and use it on someone without understanding how it works, what it does to the nervous system, what the contraindications are, and how to use it with skill and intention. You deserve that level of care. And it is the only way I know how to work.
As a Therapist
I am a Licensed Clinical Specialist in Clinical Social Work in Kansas and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Missouri with over fourteen years of experience and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Kansas.
I work with adult women navigating late diagnosed AuDHD, complex trauma, grief, religious trauma, burnout, body image struggles, and the lasting effects of emotionally immature parenting. My approach blends evidence based methods including ACT, DBT, and CBT with expressive and body informed tools. I am a Registered Play Therapist with advanced training in sandtray therapy, a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance, and am currently completing my yoga therapy training through an accredited program.
Therapy with me will not always look the same. Some days we talk. Some days we build worlds in the sand. Some days we breathe first and talk second. Real talk, humor, and the occasional well placed F-bomb are always welcome. Healing does not have to be heavy all the time.
As a Wellness Practitioner
Outside the therapy room I offer holistic wellness services rooted in the same commitment to safety, training, and nervous system care.
As a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and yoga therapist in training I offer private therapeutic yoga sessions tailored to your body, your goals, and what your nervous system needs. Therapeutic yoga also has a home in group settings and I have facilitated therapeutic yoga groups specifically for PTSD and fibromyalgia. As a Reiki Master I offer energy healing sessions that support deep relaxation, emotional balance, and restoration. My biofield balancing and sound healing sessions use tuning forks, singing bowls, chimes, and other instruments to assess and support your energetic field. I am also a trained labyrinth facilitator offering this ancient contemplative practice as a tool for reflection, transition, and inner listening.
These offerings are available as standalone wellness sessions separate from therapy and open to anyone who is ready to slow down, restore, and reconnect. Just show up as you are.
PART TIME TELEHEALTH THERAPY DOG
Storm
Storm is a highly skilled telehealth therapy dog and an expert in emotional support, comedic relief, and occasional screen photobombing. As a standard poodle, he takes his role very seriously—whether it’s greeting you with an enthusiastic "hello" at the beginning of each session, offering a perfectly timed head tilt, or insisting that every tough conversation could be improved with petting him.
During sessions, you’ll often find Storm napping peacefully in the background—he’s a master of self-care, after all. But don’t worry, he knows exactly when it’s time to rejoin the conversation at the end, ensuring a proper close to your session.
With years of experience in being ridiculously cute, Storm specializes in:
-Greeting you with a warm hello at the start of sessions
-Napping soundly while you work through your challenges
-Demonstrating radical self-care by stretching dramatically mid-session
-Providing virtual snuggles and judgment-free listening
While he may not be the one giving advice, he’s always there to remind you to take a deep breath, find joy in the little things, and never underestimate the power of a good snack. If you spot him in the background, feel free to say hi—he loves the attention!
